SAND CALCULATOR:
YARDS, TONS & TRUCK LOADS
Put in the length and width in feet and the depth in inches. The calculator turns that into cubic yards, then tons, then the number of Blue Sands truck loads at 14 to 16 tons a load, with a delivered price. It opens on masonry sand. A full load of masonry sand is $590 delivered in Tulsa County, sales tax extra. Outside Tulsa County, add $50 a load.
SIZE YOUR SAND ORDER
Fill sand and manufactured sand are in the same menu. The estimate carries straight into a delivery request.

HOW TO MEASURE
Three numbers and a tape measure. Nothing needs to be exact to the inch.
- Length and width, in feet. Run a tape down the long side and across the short side. If the area is an L or an odd shape, break it into rectangles, run each one through the calculator, and add them up.
- Depth, in inches. Use the depth the job calls for. If a plan or the person laying the pavers gave you a number, use that one.
- Round up to whole loads. The calculator rounds the load count up to full trucks. If you land between sizes, order a little extra. Running short means waiting on a second delivery.
Typical depths, the same ones on the calculator buttons: 2 inches to top up a driveway that already has rock, 3 inches for beds, 4 inches for a new driveway, and 6 inches for a building pad.
The math, if you want to check it by hand: length times width in feet, times depth in inches divided by 12, gives cubic feet. Divide by 27 for cubic yards. Multiply cubic yards by about 1.36 for tons of sand. A full load of 14 to 16 tons works out to roughly 10 to 12 cubic yards.
SAND CALCULATOR QUESTIONS
How many cubic yards of sand are in a truck load?
Roughly 10 to 12 cubic yards. Each load is 14 to 16 tons, and the calculator uses about 1.36 tons of sand per cubic yard.
How many tons of sand do I need?
Work out the cubic yards and multiply by about 1.36. A 20 by 30 foot area at 4 inches deep is about 7.4 cubic yards, about 10 tons, which fits in one load.
What depth should I enter for sand?
Whatever the job calls for. The buttons under the calculator fill in common depths of 2, 3, 4 and 6 inches, and you can type any other number.
How accurate is the calculator?
It gets you close, and it is still an estimate. Ground is rarely flat, sand settles once it gets wet, and every load crosses a scale, so the final tonnage and price come off the scale ticket and are confirmed on your quote. Prices include delivery; sales tax is extra.
